About Kerian Home Health Care
Kerian began as a result of many conversations between me and my wife on how nice it would be to have some help managing our family tasks. With our parents living in another state, it became increasingly difficult to make time to visit them, care for them, raise our family, and manage our careers. Every weekend is filled with some family activity, and each weekday is jam-packed with getting kids off to school, work, rushing out of the office to take/pick up a child from practice, then coming home to figure out what to have for dinner. After years of stressful juggling, we decided to do something.
We founded Kerian with the idea to provide a “Total Home Management” (THM) philosophy. The idea behind the THM concept is in addition to providing care to the elder member of the family, Kerian recognizes other members of the family could benefit from support as well. Today’s family is typically dual-career couples juggling children’s active calendar, job demands, and caring for elderly parents.
Our mission at Kerian Home Health Care is to provide quality care at home. The physical, emotional and lifestyle adjustments brought on by maturing is challenging enough. Our services are distinguished by the caliber of our caregivers, the responsiveness of our staff and our expertise in Live-in care. We embrace a positive, balanced approach to caregiving, centered on the evolving needs of every family member.

The goal of Kerian Home Health Care is to have a reputation for hiring the highest caliber caregivers. We hire only 1 out of 25 caregiver applicants who apply for a job. Think about how you would take applications from and interview that many people to find the right Caregiver. We hire applicants that have at least one year of caregiving experience and that have certifications (e.g. Certified Nursing Assistants, Registered Medical Assistants, Certified Caregivers, etc); many are also retired nurses and other professionals. We recruit, hire and train so you never have to. But, as you’d expect, if one of our caregivers dosen’t do a good job in your home, we remove them immediately.
Selecting the Best Caregiver for Your Needs
Matching you with the right caregiver is an art, and we are very good at it. This is our profession and we are continually hiring caregivers for our new clients.
We Carefully Screen & Hire All of Our Caregivers
Our caregivers are W2 employees, not contractors. We conduct criminal background checks and verify employment references that helps us check for kindness, honesty and conscientiousness. We pay the caregivers and withhold the legal amounts for income taxes, Social Security, Medicare, Workers Compensation and Unemployment Insurance. If you don’t want to deal with the liabilities of hiring a private caregiver, let us do the hiring, training, supervising and paying of your caregiver. On top of that, we provide insurance coverage to cover any damages our caregivers might inadvertently cause in your home. We take all the risk — so you can focus on the Caregivers taking good care of you or your loved one.
